Details: Amazon.ca What sets this Vancouver designer pop trio apart from the average boy band is the fact that one of its members, Trevor Guthrie, actually writes the majority of the songs. With only two singers to its name, SoulDecision can't help but come across as poor second cousins to Florida teen-dream productions like Backstreet Boys, 'N Sync and the rest. But what No One Does It Better lacks in big budget production and outside help it makes up for with variety and flare. While the title track is by-the-numbers shimmering balladry, dance floor hot-steppers like the Motown-inspired "I Don't Need Anyone," the funked-up "Faded" and the disco lite of "Only In My Mind" help balance out the sappiness. And closer "Next Time," with its acoustic guitar shuffle, comes awfully close to rocking. The rest of the disc is upholstered with soft-focus love songs like "Feelin' You" and crooning promises like "Let's Do It Right" but really, that's what records like this are supposed to be about. --Shawn Conner Product Description 2000 debut album, for the Canadian dance-pop trio, includes the hit singles, 'Ooh It's Kinda Crazy', 'Faded', & 'No One Does It Better'. 11 tracks.
