ニューウエストミンスター店の隣は、ホームレスシェルターです。 とても、立地が良いとは言えません。 では、何故、そんな場所にお店を開いたのか？ 元々は、第一倉庫に商品が入らないため、第二倉庫として借りました。 しかし、1号店のメインストリート店が遠くて行きづらい・・・というお声があり、倉庫兼店舗として運営しています。 毎月1日に、買い物に来られる、70代のホームレスの女性がいます。   彼女は違法薬物の使用から、人生を台無しにし、今は、ホームレスシェルターで薬物厚生プログラムを受けています。   大好きな、お孫さんが、毎月1日に、シェルターに会いに来ます。お孫さんへのプレゼントを買いに来ます。   今は、日雇い労働でお金を稼ぎ、11月23日にシェルターを出る予定です。 彼女は私に言います。 毎月1日に、ここでお買い物をして、孫に会うのが楽しみ♪   もう、違法薬物もしない。もう一度、人生を取り戻す。 ニューウエストミンスター店にご来店のお客様の中には、ホームレスシェルターが近い、恐いと感じる方も多くいらっしゃいます。 でも、ホームレスの方々も人です。一切、危害を加えられたり、恐い体験をしたことはありません。 ご来店される、お客様に、少しでも、社会復帰を真剣に目指すホームレスの方もいることを知っていただき、ご理解を頂けますと幸いです。
