It's the graceful way they fade into the background, deservedly giving Orbison's impossibly high pitch a full spotlight on his classics "Only the Lonely," "In Dreams," "Ooby Dooby," and "Crying." Costello's new "The Comedians," with its image of a ferris wheel-stranded lover, is perfect for Orbison, incidentally. Beyond his greatness, it's fun to play Name the Guitar Solo and Backup Singer on the restrained finale, "Oh Pretty Woman." --Steve Knopper
