ABS 45° reducing wye for a smooth branch tie-in that also steps down a size — the Y-junction that brings a smaller branch into a larger main at a gentle 45°, so you reduce and branch in one fitting instead of stacking a wye and a bushing. All three ends are hub sockets sized for Schedule 40 IPS ABS, solvent-welded for a rigid, sealed joint. It meets ASTM D2661 and CSA B181.1 and carries cUPC and NSF/ANSI 14 certification, the listings an inspector checks on a residential or light-commercial rough-in across the GTA. The 45° sweep keeps flow moving through the size change, which is why it's preferred over a square tee on the drainage side. Stocked in 2×2×1½", 3×3×1½", and 3×3×2" — the reductions that cover most branch tie-ins. Wyes are non-pressurized DWV only; test hydrostatically, never with compressed air or gas.
