Scientifically known as Phaselous vulgari, black beans are quite popular in the cuisines of Latin and South America, as well as those of the Southwestern USA. TJ’s Organic Black Beans are low in sodium and a good source of fibre. They’re tender and almost meaty in texture – this may very well be why they’re a perennial favourite protein source for vegetarians.
