The HG #17 Gundam G-Self Perfect Pack is a High Grade plastic model kit from Bandai's G-Reco line, depicting the fully upgraded G-Self mobile suit in its ultimate configuration from the final episodes of the Gundam Reconguista in G TV series (and echoed in the films). This "perfect" loadout combines elements from prior packs (No. 1 through 5) into a modular backpack system, transforming the base G-Self into a versatile space/atmospheric combat powerhouse with enhanced thrusters, weapons, and translucent effect parts that glow under UV light. It's a fan-favorite for its engineering depth and customization potential, allowing reconfiguration between modes for dynamic displays.

Key Features & Design

• Snap-Fit Assembly: Tool-free build with superior color separation (whites, blues, reds, and clear effects) for an anime-accurate finish—minimal painting needed, though topcoating the clears enhances the glow effect.
• Articulation & Poseability: Excellent HG standards with ball-jointed shoulders/hips, double-jointed elbows/knees, and a flexible neck for fluid flight or combat poses. The Perfect Pack adds weight but maintains balance via reinforced polycaps.
• Gimmicks:
  • Perfect Pack reconfiguration: Switches between Space Mode (extended wings/thrusters) and Atmospheric Mode (streamlined fins) via swappable panels and joints.
  • UV-reactive translucent parts on wings, thrusters, and weapons for luminous effects (blacklight recommended for full impact).
  • Modular backpack that integrates prior pack elements (e.g., beam wings from No. 3, boosters from No. 5) for hybrid customizations.

Included Weapons & Accessories

• Enhanced Beam Rifle (with scope and foregrip)
• 2 × Beam Sabers (storable in backpack)
• Upgraded Shield (larger, with beam emitter option)
• Perfect Pack Backpack (full modular set with wings, thrusters, and clear effect parts)
• Hand parts: Fists, open palms, rifle grips, saber-holding
• Foil stickers and water-slide decals for markings and accents

Runner count: ~12 runners + polycaps + effects (dense but logical layout).

Build Experience & Reputation

• Assembly time: 2–3 hours; skill level 2 (intermediate—modular pack adds steps, but runners are color-coded). Reviewers hail it as "the definitive G-Self kit" for its replayability and glow gimmicks, with many calling the mode-switching "a joy to tinker with." It's praised for compatibility with other G-Reco HGs, enabling fleet builds, though the pack's bulk requires careful posing to avoid stress on joints.

In short, the HG G-Self Perfect Pack (#17) is the crowning evolution of Bellri's suit: modular, mesmerizing under lights, and a testament to G-Reco's innovative designs. If you're diving into Regild Century, this pack seals the deal!
