Crispy, café-style grilled sandwiches at home in minutes. The Yoshikawa Hot Sandwich Maker is a compact, Japanese-engineered stovetop press that seals your bread shut and toasts both sides at once, giving you golden, diagonal grill marks and a perfectly melted filling every time.
A staple in Japanese kitchens for its light weight, quick cleanup, and reliable results, this hinged aluminum press is just as at home on your stovetop as it is packed along for a camping trip.
⚠️ Gas Stoves Only. This sandwich maker is designed exclusively for open-flame gas burners. Do not use on electric, ceramic glass-top, or induction (IH) stoves — it will not heat correctly and may damage your cooktop.

How It Works
- Butter one side of two slices of bread (trim the crusts if you like).
- Add your filling on the buttered side and top with the second slice.
- Lightly oil the inside plates with an oil-soaked paper towel so nothing sticks.
- Place the sandwich inside, close the lid, and latch the handle.
- Cook over low gas flame for about 1 minute per side.
- Open, check for a golden-brown finish, and enjoy.
Whether it's a quick breakfast, a camping trip staple, or a fun way to get the kids cooking, this Japanese stovetop press turns simple bread and fillings into a crisp, hot, made-to-order sandwich — no oven or electricity required.
