Un navire est retrouvé à la dérive avec son équipage massacré sur les côtes de la Gaspésie… C’est la consternation ! Dans la foulée, une journaliste ambitieuse, aidée d’un jeune muséologue-archiviste plutôt timide et sédentaire, découvre qu’un collectionneur d’objets maritimes aux desseins douteux est peut-être en lien avec cette terrible histoire. La quête s’amorce alors pour découvrir qui est ce mystérieux scaphandrier qui décime tout sur son passage pour arriver à ses fins et récupérer un précieux document pillé sur l’épave du « Princess of the North », là où il a trouvé la mort…
