Sambal is a traditional chilli sauce or paste that is used across Southeast Asia, most popular in Malaysia and Indonesia. Not to be confused with South Asian \u003cem\u003esambol,\u003c\/em\u003e which is a dry condiment often made using shredded coconut, sambal is a thick paste made using ground chilies, garlic, onion, and often shrimp paste.\u003cem\u003e \u003c\/em\u003eOurs begins with bright lemongrass and ginger notes, followed by rich umami flavours, and ends with a warm, lingering heat from Thai chili peppers, and no shrimp paste.
