Dan the Automator's career as a subversive concept hip-hop producer (,  and ) has covered more distance than a hustler's Mercedes. With it's suspenseful futuristic soundtrack vibe, it's not surprising that the\nInstrumentals work so well. However without the real star, DTFH, the album is more a whispering fix of muted breakbeats and lost-world harmonies than an amazing 31st century space opera. This 12-track album reveals the genesis of Del's mind-blowing lyrical meltdown, \"3030\" as a glacial symphony that sounds as if it's been carved out of ice or an up-dated\nStar Wars score. \"Time Keeps Slipping\" (the song where  sings in a falsetto) verges on folk-hop territory and \"Positive Contact\" shines as a stellar example of focused, melodic mashed-up instrumental hip-hop.
